Or should they focus on making sure that their retirement years are not going to be a financial burden on their child?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Singapore, a 22 year old student took his estranged father to court to compel him to finance his tertiary education. The case was dismissed by the court, but it ignited a public debate on the extent to which a parent is responsible for his or her child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a commentary by finance blogger Dawn Cher on the issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Willing parents are still more than welcome to fund their children\u2019s higher education.
