Part 2: A Prevention and Healing Program

The following Prevention and Healing program is totally based on a Holistic and Natural Approach, the approach I used to heal myself. This program is centered around:

  1. The Body
  2. The Mind, and
  3. The Spirit
I. THE BODY

Since cancer only occurs in or on our bodies it is, therefore, not surprising that about 80% of all cancers are due to physical factors centering mainly on food and the environment.

A. FOOD

(a) Natural and Fresh Foods

What are the things about food we have to remember? Well, the obvious one is that since just about all our foods today are processed (canned, tinned, refined, etc.), polluted (with chemicals, additives, etc.) or nutritionally "dead" (from cooking or overcooking), we should, as far as possible, eat our food fresh, and in their natural state (salads and fresh fruits), or lightly, or just sufficiently cooked. And avoid: (i) eating overnite leftovers (ii) microwaving our foods which render our food not only 100% "dead" but toxic.

(b) Oxygen, Sugar and PH levels in Food

Cancer cells cannot survive as long as our body has high levels of oxygen and PH alkalinity, and low levels of sugar.

Oxygen: Fresh foods, especially vegetables and fruits, contain oxygen. So also with fresh, natural, unboiled water (e.g. spring water or oxygenated water like R.O. (Reverse Osmosis) water).

Sugar: Processed and refined carbohydrates and sugar (white sugar, white rice, white bread, cakes, biscuits, etc.) cause high blood sugar levels, but complex carbohydrates keep blood sugar levels low or at moderate levels (brown rice, fresh fruits and vegetables, oats, whole grains, whole wheat, legumes, etc.).

Alkaline Food: Mainly plant foods like vegetables and fruits (even sour fruits like lime are alkaline forming). Acidic/acid forming foods are mainly animal in origin (all the meats - beef, pork, mutton, etc.). Keep your body PH slightly alkaline (above 7.4) or Neutral (7.4). Below 7.4is acidic and an acidic body is a sick body, prone to chronic or serious illnesses (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.).

So remember to keep your body oxygen and PH alkaline levels high, and sugar levels low always.

(c) Good and Bad Carbohydrates, Proteins and Fats

Very few people know that there are "good" and "bad" types of these 3 key food groups. Examples:

  • Carbohydrates ("Carbs"):
Good Carbs: Complex carbs are found in veges, fruits and whole, unrefined grains (brown rice, olled oats, etc.). They are all of plant origin, and they contain fibre, which flush out toxins and waste matter, thereby preventing constipation and minimizing the danger of colon and rectal cancer.
Bad Carbs: All refined and processed carbs (white sugar, white rice, white bread, mee, koay teow, bee hoon, cakes, cookies, etc.) are the "baddies" containing little or no nutrients, and lots of toxic intestinal "sewages" build-up. They also cause obesity.

  • Proteins:
Good Proteins: Mainly of plant origin e.g. soybeans, nuts, seeds.
Bad Proteins: Mainly of animal origin (all the meats, dairy products, especially the processed ones).

  • Fats:
Good Fats: Mainly Omega 3 oils (fish oil, cod liver oil), certain Omega 6 oils (evening primrose oil, rapeseed, flaxseed, linseed oils) and mono-unsaturated oils (olive oil).
Bad Fats: Most of our cooking oils which have all been refined and processed, and oils of animal origin (e.g. pork fat) are bad fats, causing cholesterol build-up in our bodies. And also trans-fatty acids as found in almost all of our processed foods, e.g. margarine, biscuits, cakes, all noodles, etc.) as preservatives. Transfats are real killers, especially of our heart. They are highly carcinogenic (cancer-causing).

Learn to distinguish between the "good" and "bad" carbs, proteins and fats. They can make a lot of difference to your health, good or bad, according to these good or bad food groups.
